What We Do
Over the past ten years the Alliance has worked to:
- Design and pilot culturally responsive, research-based thinking frames and professional development systems and implement them in schools and districtwide
- Collaborate on and catalyze activities, programs and events to make change that transforms public education
- Convene forums, workshops and collaborations that develop public understanding about the essential role of arts in inquiry and deeper learning across the curriculum.
We develop leadership for change at every level. We believe in building on the accomplishments of schools, school districts, community arts organizations and previous statewide efforts to co-create and activate a shared, unified vision for how the arts can contribute to confident, enthusiastic, capable students and thriving communities.
“I believe we can change the world if we start listening to one another again. Simple, honest, human conversation. Not mediation, negotiation, problem-solving, debate, or public meetings. Simple, truthful conversation where we each have a chance to speak, we each feel heard, and we each listen well.”
