Parents are their children’s first and most influential teachers and advocates. Parents understand their children as unique individuals, and know that the whole child must be considered to realize their potential in their community and society.

Arts Active Parents not only engage their own children in art, they believe that all kids learn better if they’re creating and appreciating art, so they are advocates for arts programs in their schools and districts for every child, every day.

In Alameda County, we are uniting Arts Active Parents across school and district lines to create a regional voice that can help change all schools for the better.

Events and workshops connect and educate parents about opportunities, ideas, and directions.

The Arts Active Parent Belief Statement was created by parents and exists as an affirmation of belief that can be endorsed by anyone in the community.

Resources are collected and organized to help parents answer specific questions as well as to gain broader understanding about educational issues and opportunities.

Arts Active Parent Newsletter informs the community each month with news about advocacy issues and parents who are making a difference, as well as free and inexpensive arts activities for families in the community.

The Arts Active Parent Coordinator advises and connects parent groups to each other and to other organizations to take action for a well rounded, quality education for every child. Contact Martha Montufar.
