Livermore Innovation Fair

  • Bankhead Theater 2400 First Street Livermore, CA, 94550 United States (map)

As part of the arts in education program, the Livermore Valley Performing Arts Center will present the Second Annual Livermore Innovation Fair on Saturday, April 14 from 10 am to 3 pm at the Bankhead Theater. A free, family-friendly event, this year's focus will be on "Arts in Technology," sparking the imagination by demonstrating the many ways art and technology intersect in the world around us.

Inspired by the hands-on maker movement, the Innovation Fair is designed to energize students in grades K-12 and help make a connection between the five STEAM disciplines (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Math). Scientific displays, visual art, and technology experiments will be presented in a lively environment that is equal parts science fair, high-tech exhibition, art show and community celebration.

This year an expanded speakers series features three notable local science and technology leaders - Jack McCauley, Guitar Hero pioneer and a co-founder of Oculus Rift, Karl Wente, fifth-generation winemaker, and NASA Ames Research Scientist Peter Graube - who will speak on the convergence of art, science and technology.
