Kathy coordinates Alliance communications including print projects, advocacy campaigns, and making student and teacher learning visible through the Art IS Education gallery showcase. Kathy is the contact for our annual showcase of student learning, Art IS Education! in March.
Unique Holland: ACOE Communications Manager
Unique aligns Alliance communication and message with overall vision of the Alameda County Office of Education and 18 school districts.
Jessie Wick: Art IS Education Web Manager
Jessie coordinates Alliance communications including web projects and the online action research project.
Julie Plasencia: Arts Active Parents Coordinator
Julie leads the Arts Active Parents in Alameda County by collaboratively planning and implementing Arts Active Parent Leadership communications, activities, and meetings, providing project coordination for 100 Families, Connect the Dots and family art days. Julie also ensures parent led advocacy in connection with annual Art IS Education month (March).
Todd Elkin: Teacher Action Research Seminar Facilitator
Todd convenes the Teacher Action Research Seminar, an on-line and face to face opportunity for arts teachers, non-arts teachers and teaching artists to develop arts and arts integrated curriculum and conduct ongoing assessment for necessary revisions in instruction. The seminar is a professional learning community that provides on-going professional development for use of the Teaching for Understanding and Studio Thinking Frameworks to enable schools to deepen the quality of arts learning and arts integration in their classrooms.
District Arts Network Coaches
District coaches offer technical assistance to districts in conducting arts learning needs assessments, developing and implementing arts learning plans, assessing and planning professional development, identifying resources, and developing policy.
Sue McGreevy: Lead Coach
Sue facilitates collaborative arts integration through professional development programs and coaches districts in strategic planning and planning for professional development to implement systemic change, through arts learning, for educational equity.
Carolyn Carr: Coach
Carolyn coordinates with district leaders, principals, teachers and teaching artists to implement a model for a district-wide Teacher Action Research Institute.
Carlos Windham: Coach
Carlos provides coordination and support to Arts Learning Anchor Districts and Schools, including designated Laboratory Schools that can serve as models for others to learn from. Carlos also manages an arts learning project at the Juvenile Justice Center in collaboration with the Alameda County Arts Commission and the Alameda County Department of Justice.
